The short version: some links on ToolScore are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission. This costs you nothing extra — often less than list price when a partner runs a promotion — and it never changes what we write.

How to spot them: affiliate buttons route through /go/… and carry rel="nofollow sponsored". Links that go straight to a vendor are editorial.

The firewall: scores are computed by a pipeline that has no knowledge of commercial relationships. Tools with no affiliate program routinely rank at the top of our tables — check the leaderboard and you'll see it. When a tool with an affiliate program scores badly, it scores badly. That's the product.

What we don't do: paid placements, “sponsored reviews”, swapping verdicts for rev-share bumps, or burying traps on tools that pay us. Our Best Value badge is earned by the math, not the margin.

Why commissions at all: running verifiable, freshly-sourced comparisons takes real work. If we save you two evenings of spreadsheet archaeology, clicking through our link is a fair exchange — the model is reciprocity, not hard sell.
