ToolScore

Privacy Policy

Effective October 17, 2026 · questions: [email protected]

The short version: ToolScore has no accounts, no tracking pixels, no ads and no data to sell. The only thing we store in your browser is a light/dark theme preference. Everything on this site is published information about software tools — not information about you.

What we process, and why

Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records standard request data (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL) to keep the site up and to stop abuse. We don't use logs to profile visitors, and we don't retain them beyond the provider's default rotation.

Email you send us. If you write to [email protected] (corrections, removal requests, questions), we use your message and address only to answer it. We don't add you to any list — there is no newsletter.

Affiliate links. Some outbound links are affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). Once you click through to a vendor, that vendor's own privacy policy applies — we receive aggregate commission reporting, not your browsing data.

Public forum content (Reddit, Hacker News, GitHub)

Our research reads publicly available discussion threads about software tools — prices, benchmarks, limitations — and quotes short passages with attribution and a link to the original thread. What we don't do with forum data:

  • We don't build profiles of forum users, and we don't collect non-public user information.
  • We don't aggregate, resell or re-license Reddit or other forum data.
  • We don't use forum content to train machine-learning models.

If you are the author of a quoted public post and want it removed or re-attributed, email [email protected] with the link — we'll fix or remove the quote within a few days.

Cookies & local storage

We set no tracking or advertising cookies. The single browser-side item we store is ts-theme (your light/dark choice) in local storage. No third-party analytics scripts run on this site.

What this site is not

ToolScore is not directed at children under 13, doesn't run ads, doesn't sell or share visitor data with anyone, and has no user database to breach — by design, not by promise.

Changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Questions or data requests: [email protected].
